Lakai x Motörhead

Over the past several years, Lakai professional Riley Hawk has continued to push the scale and limits of skateboarding. At only 25 years old, he has had arguably the best year of his young career putting out two full length video parts, filming for a third, and receiving a nomination for skateboarding’s most prestigious award, Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year. Riley is on a non-stop terror and shows no signs of slowing down. Like most skateboarders, Riley holds a wide range of interests and hobbies from surfing, to art, to tattooing, and his biggest endeavor aside from skateboarding: playing music. Riley has been a musician since he was very young, and plays lead guitar in his own band “Petyr”, who he travels the world playing shows with. Of the many musical influences in his life, Riley will proudly say that Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead is at the top of the list. When looking for a project to launch Riley’s second pro model shoe for Lakai with, the thought of Motörhead came to mind. The idea became a reality with the thumbs up from long time professional skateboarder Geoff Rowley, who was close personal friends with Lemmy, the group and also to Riley’s dad fellow Lakai rider, Tony Hawk. Skateboarding and Rock N’ Roll music have always gone hand in hand, there’s no question about that. Riley fully embodies the “Fast and Loose” mentality of skateboarding and Rock N’ Roll music. We are more than proud to have partnered with Motörhead and Riley to deliver a full co-branded footwear and apparel capsule.
